Most Improved Swimmer


Congratulations to Micah who was awarded Tauriko School's most improved swimmer...you can be very proud of what you have achieved Micah. Thank you to the Te Puna/Bethlehem Lions who support us to award a medal to this student and who also donate $100 to the school to go towards swimming equipment.

Host Families Wanted for Japanese Visitors!

Please consider this, it's a great experience for your family...

A small group of 10 Japanese Junior High School students will be visiting Tauriko School in early August.  We are looking for 10 great host families to look after the students and give them a memorable experience here at Tauriko School.
The students are coming for 6 nights from Thursday the 4th of August – Wednesday the 10th of August 2016.  (Please note the change of dates). They will spend almost 4 days at Tauriko School to experience NZ school life.
This is an exciting opportunity for families who are interested in meeting new people and learning about other cultures!

Tall Poppies Gymnastics



On Friday 6 May, six Tall Poppy gymnasts attended the ARGOS Gymsports competitions. Two gymnasts (Georgia-Leigh Blair and Ivy Anderson-Podmore) entered in the Springers division. Four other gymnasts (Asha Clarke, Amy Campbell, Jenny Mackinnon and Olive Anderson-Podmore) entered in the Flyers division.


All girls performed polished routines on the floor, beam and vault receiving excellent scores. Jenny Mackinnon and Amy Campbell came second equal overall, with the Tauriko Flyers team winning the gold medal for first place. Ivy Anderson-Podmore came third overall in a tight competition.

All girls were well prepared and did Tauriko School proud. Congratulations to you all!
