Year 5 and 6 Gymsports Competition

On Friday June 3, 12 Year 5 and 6 gymnasts did Tauriko proud at the local gymsports competition. All gymnasts worked together and encouraged their team members. Their results were outstanding.

Springers:

  • 1st Overall- Mikaylee Barclay
  • 2nd Overall - Charlotte Rose
  • 3rd Overall - Jasmin de Buisson

Springers Teams:

  • 1st Overall – Mikaylee Barclay, Charlotte Rose, Jasmin  du Buisson and Laura James
  • 3rd Overall – Emily Verstappen, Isabella Mungavin and Emma Neutroski


Flyers:

  • 1st Overall - Imogen Aulding
  • 6th Overall - Rebekah Burgess

Flyers Team:

  • 1st Overall: Imogen Aulding, Rebekah Burgess, Kylah Harley, and Georgia Barnett




Twisters- Club

  • 1st Overall Sara Esterman

Tall Poppies Gymnastics



On Friday 6 May, six Tall Poppy gymnasts attended the ARGOS Gymsports competitions. Two gymnasts (Georgia-Leigh Blair and Ivy Anderson-Podmore) entered in the Springers division. Four other gymnasts (Asha Clarke, Amy Campbell, Jenny Mackinnon and Olive Anderson-Podmore) entered in the Flyers division.


All girls performed polished routines on the floor, beam and vault receiving excellent scores. Jenny Mackinnon and Amy Campbell came second equal overall, with the Tauriko Flyers team winning the gold medal for first place. Ivy Anderson-Podmore came third overall in a tight competition.

All girls were well prepared and did Tauriko School proud. Congratulations to you all!

Tauriko Gymnastics

Over the past two terms Tauriko gymnasts have been training for the Argos Gymsports competitions. These have been held over the past few weeks.
Tauriko gymnasts have had some incredible results in every section that they entered.

Springers:  Ngahuia Edwards 2nd overall

Peta Elliot- 1st overall
Sara Esterman - 2nd overall
Gold Medal Team (1st Team): Peta Elliot, Sara Esterman, Imogen Aulding, Jasmin de Buisson



Flyers- Year 5/6
Kiana Edwards- 2nd overall
Hailey Paprzik- 5th overall
Wikitoria Galvin- 7th overall
Gold Medal Team (1st Team): Kiana Edwards, Hailey Paprzik, Jenny Mackinnon, Amy Campbell

Paige Aulding 4th overall (Year 5/6)
Keilani Worthen 1st overall (Year 7/8)
Arohaina Worthen 6th overall (Year 7/8)

The following girls were then selected for the Best of the Best competition: Ngahuia Edwards, Peta Elliot, Sara Esterman, Kiana Edwards, Hailey Paprzik, Wikitoria Galvin, Paige Aulding, Keilani Worthen, Arohaina Worthen.
The Best of the Best competition involves students from Years 3-8 competing against each other in their section.
