On Wednesday this week during lunchtime we had special visitors to school.
Blue Light Bangers are lunchtime events in schools with local police officers. Organised by Te Awanui Youth Trust, the officers visit selected schools during a lunchtime the purpose being to interact with students through a BBQ, chat with the students and maybe play a game or two. They bring the BBQ, sausages, bread and sauce - thanks to the Blue Light WBOP and Te Awanui Youth Trust. The aim of the visit is to build relationships between police and young people, and for students to see the police as people that are there to help them.
